Joanne Ransom  (M. Ed.) is a Professional Level Kripalu Yoga teacher. She is also a counselor / psychotherapist and massage therapist.

Joanne Gormley a professional Level Kripalu Yoga teacher is a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, Gestalt counselor and workshop leader in the expressive arts.

The Joannes bring a combined 27 years of experience teaching yoga and meditation and leading groups. They share an enthusiasm for conscious living and a devotion to bringing the practices of yoga and meditation into daily life. Their teaching has been enriched through ongoing study with senior teachers in a variety of traditions, including Erich Schiffman, John Friend, Beryl Bender Berch, D.V.K. Desikachar, Shiva Rae, Jack Kornfield, Cindy Lee, Stephen Cope, Angela Farmer, Richard Freeman and Francois Raoult.
 

 

Our Teachers

Annie Godin teaches Hatha Yoga since 2003. In 2004 she meets Barrie Risman who introduces her to Anusara yoga and with whom she still deepens her practice. Over the last years Annie took part in various Anusara workshops and immersions. In 2009, she completed a 250 hours yoga teacher certification with Robin Golt. Annie's classes are executed in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Her teaching is rigorous; her spirit is open and joyful.
 
Mona Keddy went to her first yoga class in 1996 and immediately something clicked. Although not naturally flexible, she has had a steady practice since then that led her deeper and deeper into the study of yoga. She started teaching in 1997 and since then has studied with a variety of teachers such as Erich Schiffmann, Richard Freedman, Geeta Iyengar, Faeq Biria and Shirley Daventry French. Mona has an Iyengar Yoga Introductory I/II certification and is registered with Yoga Alliance ERYT500). She teaches yoga and works as a psychotherapist in Montreal.
Barrie Risman is an Anusara yoga teacher and teacher-trainer based in Montreal. Her love for the teachings and practices of yoga comes from intensive study and a personal practice approaching two decades. Since 2001, Barrie has studied closely with John Friend, the founder of Anusara yoga. Barrie received her Anusara yoga certification in 2003 and currently serves on the Anusara yoga Certification Committee, mentoring new teachers. She is also a member of the Anusara yoga Therapeutics Panel.


Anusara Yoga : A school of hatha yoga that unifies a life-affirming Tantric philosophy with bio-mechanical principles of alignment and a celebration of the heart.

Insight Meditation : A practice that builds concentration, awareness and self knowledge by the moment to moment attention on the breath, cultivation mindfulness to be fully awake and present with whatever arises in our lives.

Iyengar Yoga : Building around a weekly theme, this class focuses on internal and external alignment through a combination of static asana and vinyasa flow.

Kripalu Yoga : A form of Hatha yoga, including postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), relaxation and meditation. It is a holistic system of self development, integrating body, mind and spirit, and is a powerful tool for cultivation health and restoring emotional balance. We develop strength and flexibility, grounded in an awareness of being in the present moment, allowing for the expression of our authentic selves. Restorative Yoga and Relaxation : A gentle practice of supported yoga postures and breathing techniques, counteracting the effects of stress on the immune system. Active relaxation moving body, mind and spirit toward balance.

Vinyasa Flow : A continuous flow of yoga postures linked together by the breath, emphasizing sun salutations and other creative flows, that build life force energy. Prior yoga experience is recommended
